A few days ago, I met up with a long-lost high school classmate and had a meal together.
Time flies, and in the blink of an eye, it's been over two years since we graduated from college. From what I understand, many of my high school classmates from that year chose to continue their studies instead of entering the workforce after graduation. Two years have passed, and many graduate students have already graduated and started working.
From our conversation, I learned that some people found stable jobs locally. Although the income isn't high, it offers sustainable development. There are also those who are experiencing their final year of graduate school, feeling anxious about their thesis and job prospects. Some may envy me for not choosing to pursue a master's degree and instead starting work right after graduation; I have been working for two years now, while they chose to further their studies but still struggle to find suitable jobs. I think it's like a besieged city; having become a corporate slave early on, I also envy that campus life.
Staying in a small city and finding a stable job might be the most conservative choice, but it's also a job with a clear endpoint. However, I don't like that. As a programmer, I hope to face different and challenging tasks every day. But I also know that this is a tumultuous profession, and the endpoint is unknown. I'm doing well now, but sometimes I can't help but wonder where the road ahead will lead.
Recently, there have been some minor incidents in my life.
When a classmate was driving my car, they hit the curb. The repair cost 800, and I waited three days. I've learned my lesson; from now on, I will drive the car myself, because if an accident happens, it not only affects relationships but also wastes time and money.
I parked at the train station for a day, and when I returned, I found my car had been hit. When I got home, I started reviewing surveillance footage and watched hundreds of videos to identify the culprit. I promptly reported it to the police. Later, I went to the accident team to handle the situation, and the perpetrator admitted fault, ultimately compensating me 500.
