Contemplation in the midst of busyness: Life, work, and entertainment

It's been a month since I wrote something, but it seems like there's nothing to write about.

Industry Communication#

Recently, I've been busy. In addition to my main job, I've also been trying to develop some side businesses. It's been two months since I started my new job, and I'm still a bit anxious. I don't know if I'll pass the probation period.

These days, I've had some exchanges with veterans in the industry. The overall environment is really bad, so I still need some additional income to relieve my anxiety. When it comes to big companies, they only bring wasted years and don't provide the so-called connections when you really need help. The connections within the company can't help you when you're unemployed. There is no technical progress, and you are limited by the people you know in your circle. Based on my previous experience, I do feel that way. Although there are many people in the company, there are very few who are truly capable, and there are very few opportunities to get to know them. On the other hand, in the startup community, you can meet more independent developers and industry leaders.

Old Friends, New Worries#

A few days ago, I went to Shanghai and met with some former colleagues. It's been a little over a year since I left Xiaohongshu, and the team I was in has completely changed. There aren't many old-timers left. Since the arrival of the leader from Alibaba, the team has gradually become more like Alibaba. Some former colleagues also expressed their desire to find remote work. The atmosphere in the team is poor and the workload is heavy. A group of people work overtime every day, but I don't know why. Maybe they all know that it's not easy to find a job now, and with the news of layoffs, they don't want to be laid off at this time. Many people have families, mortgages, and the pressure of life is too great. This is a sick society, and even the air is filled with unease.

In the past month, I have been fully focused on developing Follow. I have made many modifications and added many new features. The closed beta will be available soon. If anyone has any RSS Reader needs or important features, please leave a message and let me know.

Not long ago, I went to see a movie alone. "Claw Crane" starring Shen Teng and Ma Li. It is known as the second part of "Hello Mr. Billionaire". It's really funny, and I couldn't stop laughing throughout the movie.
