Time flies. It has been four years since my college days, and in the blink of an eye, I have been a corporate slave for over three months. After becoming a corporate slave, vacations have become extremely rare, especially with the 996 work schedule. Resting time has become very precious.
During the first short vacation, I have some free time to do things I enjoy. Let's record it.
Day 0#
On the evening of the zeroth day of returning home, I left the company early with a small suitcase and set off on the road back home. Although the high-speed train station is only one stop away from home, it is still not far. However, it was crowded at the station due to the holiday, and with strict epidemic prevention measures, I spent a long time at the station after getting off the train, going through nucleic acid testing, signing forms, and various formalities. It took half an hour on the way, and the time spent queuing for nucleic acid testing and signing forms was longer than the time spent on the road.
After returning home, it was already late at night. The vacation officially began.
In the evening, I started tinkering with my NeoVim configuration until 1 a.m. Rest.
Day 1#
Due to not sleeping well last night and being in a new environment, I was awakened by firecrackers early in the morning. I felt tired and couldn't open my eyes today. We don't have a concept of the morning in our world, and it's already afternoon after having a meal. I was very tired and sleepy. I lay down for a while at noon, but couldn't fall asleep. After lying down for half an hour, I got up and continued tinkering with my NeoVim configuration. The last time I did this was two years ago, and I even wrote a few articles about it back then.
Time flies. I haven't used it much in the past two years, and in the end, I switched to VSCode. Now I have to configure it again. The ecosystem has changed so fast.
Day 2#
Finally, I had a good night's rest and feel refreshed.
Today's task is still configuring NeoVim. It's almost done, and I can wrap it up. Then it's time to play games. I took out the idle fitness ring that I haven't used for a long time. "Ring Fit Adventure" became popular again after the release of "Ring Fit Adventure 3" in Chinese. I didn't play much with the "Ring Fit Adventure 2" that I bought two years ago. Now the second-hand game cartridges are only 100 yuan, but the gameplay is similar.
I also bought a new game called "NS Sport," and it's quite addictive. After downloading it, it was almost midnight, so I played for a while and went to sleep. I'll continue tomorrow.
Day 3#
Yesterday, I downloaded a single-player game for a long time, and I finally finished downloading it. It's an old game from four years ago called "Detroit: Become Human." I watched C Jun's commentary at that time, and I have to say that this game is very interesting, just like watching a movie. It has many branches and endings, and the fate and development of the main characters are in your hands. No matter how you play, there is always an ending, and there is no situation where you get stuck, which is perfect for someone like me who is not good at games. Unfortunately, my computer is still too slow, the frame rate is very low, and the graphics are pixelated. I plan to buy a PS5 at the end of the year.
Continue playing games. I also want to start playing "NS Sport" that I bought yesterday.
I played a bit of "Ring Fit Adventure 2," completed a level that I hadn't beaten before, and only a few more levels left to complete the challenge. Unfortunately, I kept getting stuck, which made me not want to play anymore. After playing a few rounds of online "Splatoon 2," I found it quite interesting once I got the hang of it. The only problem is that the internet connection is poor, and I keep getting disconnected while playing.
Day 4#
On this day, I continued playing games: "Detroit: Become Human," "Ring Fit Adventure 2," "NS Sport," and the fitness ring. Another day passed quickly. Only three days left of the vacation.
Day 5#
Watched the anime "Rent-A-Girlfriend Season 2" and completed the first playthrough of "Detroit: Become Human." It was already 1 a.m. when I finished the ending. It's the latest I've stayed up playing games. All three main characters survived, and I achieved the peaceful route with the whole family intact. My heart was filled with excitement and my hands were trembling.
Day 6#
The weather suddenly turned cold, and in a week's time, I experienced spring, summer, autumn, and winter. It's so cold, and I don't want to get up in the morning.
I wrote some code, and the day passed by.

Day 7#
Getting ready to go to Shanghai. Tomorrow is another day as a corporate slave.
The seven days were short, but the next seven days will be the longest.
